Today we are given a tutorial made by Renata Andersson with the blog Renis syhörna. She gives us the perfect appendix for someone who has been bitten by the sewingbug  - a sewingpillow.

Alla behöver vi något bra ställe att förvara våra sysaker. Med hjälp av denna kub kan man samla mycket på ett ställe. Den går att variera mycket efter tycke och smak.

I got this idea on Vi Sytokiga, by Jennie Pettersson.
We all need a place to keep our sewing stuff. With this cube you can gather alot of it in the same place. You can vary it easily to find one that fits you.

Börja med att rita en kvadrat i tex kartong. Min bit är 15x15 cm. När man syr i vävt tyg är det bra att vara noga att alla bitar blir exakt lika stora.

Skär eller klipp ut sex bitar i ett tyg och fyra bitar i ett annat tyg. De sex bitarna blir själva kuben och de fyra bitarna blir fickor.

Vik fickorna på mitten och pressa med strykjärn. Fickorna blir nu hälften så höga som kuben (vill du ha lite större, högre fickor får du göra bitarna lite högre).

Placera fickorna på på fyra av kubstyckena och sy fast med en stickning nära kanten. På bilden ser du att jag bara sytt fast på ena sidan, men det underlättar att sticka fast på alla tre sidorna.

Start by drawing a square on something more rigid, lice cardboard. My piece is 15x15 cm. When sewing in woven fabric its important to make all pieces equal.

Cut six pieces in one fabric and four pieces in another, the fist six makes the cube itself and the other four makes pockets.

Fold the pockets in half and iron. The pockets will now he half the height of the cube, if you want then higher you will have to make those pieces a bit taller.
Place the pockets on four of the cube pieces and sew near the edge. In the picture above you can see that i have only sewn the bottom part, but it helps to sew all three edges where the pocket and cubepiece touches.

Nåla nu ihop bitarna med fickor två och två.

Sy en raksöm från sömsmån till sömsmån ( syr man från kanten blir det svårt att få till bra hörn i kuben).

Nåla och sy ihop sista biten så att alla hamnar på rad som på min bild.

Pin the pieces two and two.

Sew straight from seamallowance to seamallowance (if you sew all the way to the edge it will be hard to make neat corners).

Pin and sew so the four pocket pieces are sewn together, as seen in the picture above.

På översta vänstra bilden ser ni att jag lämnat sömsmånen öppen.

Nåla och sy de delar utan fickor så att allt bildar ett T.

Nåla nu och sy ihop sista sömmen på den delen med fickorna, nedre vänstra bilden.

In the upper left oicture you can see that i have left the seamallowance open.
Pin and sew the pieces without pockets so the whole thing makes a T.

Pin and sew the last seam on the pocket piece.

Nu är det dags att sy ihop allt så att det blir en kub. I nederkant lämnar jag 5 cm stort vändhål.

Glöm inte att sy från sömsmån till sömsmån. 

Hörnen kan man vika undan lite när man syr, se bild.

Now it is time to sew it all togheter so it makes a cube. I leave an opening in the bottom at about 5 cm lenght, to turn the cube right side out.

Dont forget to sew from seamallowance to seamallowance.
Fold the corners away when sewing, see picture above.

Klipp eller skär rent alla sidor.

Vänd rätt kuben och stoppa med fluff. Jag har lite pelletskulor i botten för att kuben ska stå stabilt.

Sy igen vändhålet med smygstygn.

Nu är din fina kub färdig.

Trim edges and turn the cube right. Stuff quite firm. I put some pellets in the bottom to give some stability.
Sew the turn hole using ladder stitching.
Now your cube is done!
